A Minimally Invasive Appproach to Treatment of Encysted Hydrocele of Canal of Nuck in Adult Female

We report a case of a hydrocele of canal of Nuck in a 45year old women who underwent laparoscopic TAPP excision of cyst of canal of Nuck with hernioplasty as a day care surgery. The female counterpart of the male patent processus vaginalis is called the canal of Nuck. Nuck canal abnormality is a rare clinical issue that can be treated surgically. In the pediatric age range, it typically manifests as an inguinal swell. A 42 - years old female factory labourer presented to OPD with a painless palpable swelling in the right inguinal region since past six months. Intraabdominal contents like intestine, uterus, fallopian tube and ovaries prone to herniate though the unobliterated processus vaginalis. Hydrocele of the canal of Nuck may develop in these patients which may be misdiagnosed with the other differential diagnosis. HCN remains one of the important differential diagnosis of the inguinolabial swelling in females. Minimal access surgery can be safely applied for its surgical management. TAPP has the advantage of diagnostic scopy over TEP. TEP can be applied where diagnosis of HCN is ascertained preoperatively.
