The present study has been carried out on 600 individuals of both the sexes from four endogamous castes i.e. Baniya, Brahmin, Khatri and Arora of Patiala City. A trend B>A>O>AB has been observed in all the four castes espect in the case of Brahmins where the trend is B>A>AB>O. The frequency of Rh-ves varies between 1.33% to 5.33% in the castes under study. Sectors have a greater sway over non-secretors in the four castes. The values of chi-squuare show significant differences between brahimins and Khatris and between Brahmins and Aroras whereas in other caste group combinations the values of chi-square are showing insignificant differences. The values of genetical distance between various caste combinations ranges between 0.546 to 0.582.
